So how does Tivo work when recording stuff? And during the times when you rewind, how do you get back back to the current scene after you're done watching the rewind? Can you fast forward? What other features are there?

A TiVo is a DVR, which means it records to a hard drive, and then when you are done you can delete it. If the program is recorded, you can re-wind, fast forward, pause and slow as much as you want. On live TV, you can't just fast forward the commercials. If you had it paused, you can. It's hard to explain. TiVo's are VERY good machines. I have owned a TiVo and another DVR and there is no comparison, TiVo is so much easier to use. It's great and totally worth it! I highly reccomend one, it will change your life!

TiVo is cool--period--it does ALL the stuff a VCR machine can do: fast forward, rewind, pause, play and record. You can use the FIND PROGRAMS feature to search for your favorite shows and program the machine to record all the first run episodes--and store them for when you WANT to watch them!!

And TiVo also PAUSES LIVE TV!! Press pause, go fix that sandwich, come back and hit PLAY....and never miss a beat.

You can also watch one recorded program while TiVo records another. Some DVR models also let you record TWO programs at once, too!

TiVo prices vary according to hard drive size and monthly service charges for specific features, like syncro-hookups to your PC--something that gets technical, but you can opt for such if you want.

Bear in mind: this cool whiz bang stuff isn't limited to just TiVo, either.......

DVR services are available w/ popular satellite TV services and it's possible your local cable service may also offer the same.

Once you rewind, you CAN fast forward, or there's a special button that skips all the way to the end. Press it again, and it goes all the way to the back.

Tivo can record programs so you can play them later. You can also pause, rewind, and fast forward live and recorded TV. You can search for programs to record, too.

You can also set it to record all or new episodes of a TV program.

Also, whether it's cable or satellite, it comes with a built-in guide.

A phone line is required, though.
