My lcd tv will not display the whole video when playing a dvd?

It won't show the whole bottom of the dvd from my dvd player connected though HDMI and even when i play my Xbox 360 it does the same...

Your HDMI input may be in a zoom mode. Using your remote, press "aspect", and see if you can fix it this way.

Also make sure both the DVD player and the xbox are configured that they use a 16:9 screen (Go to their video out setup menus).
