My camera refuses to turn on after I dropped it on the concrete. Is there some way to get the pictures off the camera besides taking out the memory card and inserting it into someone else's camera, then connecting to a computer? my camera doesnt have a memory card that you can put in and take out. it comes with some memory that only holds about 7 pictures which was fine with me but i desperatley need these pictures. My computer won't sense my camera because it won't turn on so what can i do to get them. im willing to dissemble my camera and everything. its really important. Thanks

I need some new filters for my D200. Today, at my local camera store, I was told there are new "digital filters" that I should buy (they cost a lot more) instead of the old "analog filters" because digital filters supposedly will work better on a digital camera. The salesperson, with whom I have dealt many times and is pretty knowledgeable, couldn't explain why, other than to say it was because there are differences in the ways a digital sensor and film react to light. Is there anything to this? Ever since I got a digital SLR, I have been using my old lenses and filters, and have never noticed any issue.

I have been back and forth b/w Xbox 360 and PS3. i am not that big of a gamer but enoy Madden and GTA... any other game i would buy would be a sports game. at this point, i am leaning towards PS3 b/c it could play Blu-Ray. After researching, it looks there are more titles for Blu-Ray and Blu-Rays are selling more than HD DVD (which would be the XBOX).. so, i don't think Blu-Ray is going anywhere. and it's better quality i hear. what do you guys think of this choice?

I bought a wide angle .05x macro lens. Do I have to buy a wide angle filter & hood to match it,or can I just buy the standard ones. What is the difference between those two;and ordering a pedal hood instead of a wide hood.

i bought a canon powershot sd600 last year because i just wanted something simple i could use to snap pictures. but now i am really starting to enjoy photography. however my camera still has very severe limitations because it's a subcompact. i've been reading photography books and want to upgrade to a camera that has more manual features that i can start using, but i don't want to go all the way up to a DSLR because i can't justify the cost.

what are some good cameras i could use as a stepping stone to better photography? i was looking at the canon powershot A series but i'm not sure if they are a big enough step up.

I am looking for pros and cons of each satellite tv provider.
Best service, HD programming, price, selection of channels, NFL and NASCAR coverage, any and all opionions will help. I had DirecTV before and want to know if I should go back to them or try Dish Network. Do you still need a phone line? Which does the weather effect more? Do they all still have a contract of 12 months? DVR and HD receiver differences, etc, etc etc. Thanks for your help.

I just purchased a samung 50" plasma model number hp-t5064 and i have a slight yet tolerable problem with it and i heard that what i am expieriencing is fairly normal on plasma sets. this plasma also is considered top of the line for its class. anyway i notice that sometimes scenes that show alot of black seem to have a slight greenish tint to them, i noticed that my local newscaster who has very black hair had a little of a green outline around all his hair. is this whats refeered to as false contouring or color banding? its hooked up to standard direct tv reciever using a s-video cable, maybe its the reciever or the cable. next week its gonna be hooked up to a direct tv hd reciever with a component or hdmi cable maybe that will help. ??

I own a late-model Pioneer AV receiver that has a pre-amp output for the center-channel. Instead of using the receiver's center-channel power, could I connect a small amplifier to this pre-amp jack? I'd like to power two bigger speakers instead of the average output of the traditional center speaker (and, no, changing the center channel speaker adjustment from Small to Large doesn't do much at all).

Any advice will be appreciated - thanks!

I was on vacation, and I put my iPod nano in the water in the ocean. Can somebody help me try and revive it? I've been back for about three weeks now, and it still isn't working, although I've plugged it in the charger and everything. It was outside and in front of the fan drying out, but it still won't work. It worked for a minute when I first plugged it in when I first got back, but, other than that, no life has happened with poor Neil (his name). It's a second generation. Can someone help me, please???

I tried calling my friend's cell phone for the past couple days and I couldn't reach him. When he finally called back, he told me that he had no reception. But what was weird was that i heard rings on my phone instead of it jumping to voicemail. is this possible, or is he just lying to me?
