My brother got the U2 special edition ipod but he said he'd give it to me free! The only thing is that its broken I need to know how much it cost to get it fixed?

If it is less than a year old Apple will fix it for free. If it is older you will likely have to pay for it. My battery died and I bought one online for $20 and it works great. Most problems can be fixed by plugging it into itunes and running a diagnostic test on it. Good luck!

Take it to an Apple store, the folks at the Genius Bar can tell you your options.

take to the dealer or from where you bought it. show them purchase receipt if it comes under warranty, there will be no cost for repairing or even they can replace if it covers such warranty period.
