I am looking for pros and cons of each satellite tv provider.
Best service, HD programming, price, selection of channels, NFL and NASCAR coverage, any and all opionions will help. I had DirecTV before and want to know if I should go back to them or try Dish Network. Do you still need a phone line? Which does the weather effect more? Do they all still have a contract of 12 months? DVR and HD receiver differences, etc, etc etc. Thanks for your help.

Ok you want to go back to Directv because they have the best sports packages, I get storms near my house all the time and in 14 months my service has only went out 1 time. Directv has more HD channells and a much better DVR receiver. They do have a contract but it's well worth it, not to mention that if you like Nascar they have the Nascar Hotpass which is exclusive to Directv only, plus the NFL Sunday Ticket which is awesome and they are offering 4 months of free service with the purchase of the NFL ticket. My buddy owns a comparision satellite tv site take a look and see what you think.

boot's sounds like he hasn't heard of CUSTOMER NO SERVICE. It's the new rage. U can find it anywhere even at the local B&M bank.

That said, I did ferret out one great person at DTV.

My veiw, they all charge too much.
Dish has some weired channels so their channel lineup is about 1/2 what they advertise because the rest is junk.

DTV is better for their lineup. Their deals are better than Dish.
Right now I am on cable because they still consider me a customer and won't give me a deal.
When my cable deal runs out I will sign up my wife with DTV.

I know that Direct TV has MORONS for there customer serves department. They NEVER work with you and they shut you off when your accounts past due like the DAY after! It takes forever to talk to some one only to get someone on the line that you cant understand. They ask me for all my information 3 times and they just really suck............. They only reason why we still have them is so we can get the Sunday Ticket!!! Good luck
