I just completed a move to a different household, I plugged everything in and went to boot up, and the system tells me......no operating system found, what do I do to get my windows 98 to boot up..........
There was no battery backup in it's location and the power was off for 24 hours.......

I've been trying to install virtual pc on to my new laptop, it has vista basic as its operation system, which doesn't meet the system requirements of Virtual PC 2007. And it wont let me run Virtual PC 2004 either. I need to downgrade to XP. Windows XP CD wont boot.

I also have problems with some clips sent to me on email. They download to my document file OK where they play normally, but I can't actually look at them immediately with the email they're attached to. The little screen is just frozen with jagged lines all over it although I am able to hear the video as it plays. Simple language please as I don't understand computer jargon.

I had to delete most of my partitions so that I could combine them to make one but something went wrong. I did using the Vista installer & all my drives accidently got wiped out except for my software drive, which is still intact.
I have made new drives & I tried installing Win XP in either drive (except for Software drive as it does not have enough space) but it does not work!
After extracting all the files from the Win XP Cd onto the hard drive the system restarts & the main setup does not start instead its says "NTLDR MISSING" ..Press enter to reboot PC with bootable device...
I can't go anywhere after that cuz if I press enter it goes back to the XP cd & everthing starts all over again & it keeps going on a loop & does not stop!...
Plz help....

I downloaded a word document attachment from my yahoo email account and added about seven pages worth of material to my document. I repiedietly kept clicking the save button. i closed word and now to my horror my project which is due tomorrow is gone. I will do anything to not have to retype and research what I've done. It is telling me that I need to enter server names for both incoming and outgoing mail. I have tried several different options, pop3, imap, smtp, but nothing is working. I don't know if the incoming and outgoing should be different or the same, or even which one goes where..Please help!

I got a computer for free from my Dad and I have almost gotten it just the way I wanted it. But whenever I am looking at a file location it says C://Documents and Settings/my dads name..does anyone know a way to change it. I am using XP if that helps.
