Is this the work of a virus? Any advice??

Click Ctrl, Alt, Delete. You may have to do it more than once. That will cause an "illegal" shutdown. Start your computer again. It will run scandisk and find any problems. If it shows lost file fragments, click on delete. That will free up disk space. After scandisk is complete, your screen will look different. There is an icon to restore your normal desktop on the screen.

I suggest you do a complete shut down and then that may clear the errors and you can see if the program downloaded or if you need to try again. Good luck.

A .dll file is a "data library lookup" file and if yours isn't loading... you are screwed.
