Why do I get a fatal exception notice after using the program for approx 30 min. ?

Also, I always check the box to have the computer remember I have signed in and almost every time I go back to the program
I have to sign in again. Why ????????

Probably more often than not when making changes like this you must hit APPLY and then restart the computer bfore they take affect.
If you are just cruzing along and you make changes and go on doing any other applications then if you didn't APPLY them this is the same as SAVE in that portion of your computer. Same with Passwords, and Remember Me, if you dont apply and restart you haven't done anything except hit a few keys for nothing.
