Software - September 2007

It doesn't matter to me if the software is free or not. I am just needing a software that will convert pdfs to doc. I don't need it to be editable. In fact, it would be best if each pdf page showed up in Word as an image, with the wrapping style set to "tight". I've used Leadtools in the past, but since we got a new scanner, Leadtools no longer works. Batch conversions would be a plus, but I know beggars can't be choosers.

Rtf files and txt files will not be usable. I need the images to output to doc images. Thank you for any assistance!

turn it on its asking me for disk 2 for windows xp. I havent any disks it neveer came with any. I reliese Im going to have to go and buy software but how do I install the new software if I buy something other than windows xp? Any help I would be very greatful.
Can people really sell computers in this way, I mean I didnt think you could sell a computer with out the rest of the software if you had pre loaded it with it????????????????????

At work we use a font called Cambridge as our stanard font for letter heads and the like - but when ever I PDF a document with Cambridge font in it comes out as a mess of symbols.

When I check the font after it's been converted it says it's courier, but the actual letters are just a mess of random letters and symbols - I can then select Cambridge font and change it, but sometimes the spacing between the letters is all messed up.

The Cambridge font is fully installed on my computer, do I need to save it somewhere else to enable it to convert correctly? Other people here do not have the same problem when converting files - also I've tried the on-line help, but had no luck

By accident, I've bought the N*d 32 PestPatrol anti-virus and anti-spyware which only supports up to Window XP. If I insist on installing it to my laptop ( Window XP ), any damage to my laptop ?

Ok gang I am going to need step by step instructions. I have windows vista and Norton and somehow I can not play yahoo euchre. The page will load up till i click on a spot to play ex: social, beginers. Then it just sits there in the mode where it shows a product placement along with the please wait 3 minutes trhen click. What do I have to do to get to play yahoo euchre and allow my computer to stay safe. PLEASE use detail I am a big dumb when it comes to computers.

Our internet was fine on broadband at a 1gb download limit, we decide to upgrade to 12gb, and ever since we upgraded it's been slow, like worse than dial-up speed slow.

It's weird though, the broadband speed shows off when downloading files eg mp3 files from P2P software, but it's only slow when actually browsing internet web *pages*.

Why would this be?

My grandfather was using my computer and somehow change the settings on my windows XP. I can no longer switch users, i have to log off completely. I tried to go in and press "restore XP settings" and nothing happens. The colors and scheme is also gone and it looks like windows 95 now. I have tried to reset using different things and nothing has worked. Can someone please help?

I bought a new computer this weekend, and it runs Vista. Along with multiple other problems I've had, I suddenly encountered this one:
All my Programs work fine, the start menu and the whole bar at the bottom works fine, the gadgets work fine, but my whole desktop is unresponsive. When I click on any icon on my desktop, or try to right click, it does absolutely nothing, as if my computer is frozen. I've tried searching the internet for solutions, like I did with all the windows update errors, but I have yet to find anyone else with this problem.

I have alot of hijackers and virus on my computer that I really need to get rid of. I have norton anti virus but it wont pick them up. I had to download spydoctor, but it only scans, it wont remove unless I buy the product online. Any ideas?! I've been trying to find out with no luck.
