I bought a new computer this weekend, and it runs Vista. Along with multiple other problems I've had, I suddenly encountered this one:
All my Programs work fine, the start menu and the whole bar at the bottom works fine, the gadgets work fine, but my whole desktop is unresponsive. When I click on any icon on my desktop, or try to right click, it does absolutely nothing, as if my computer is frozen. I've tried searching the internet for solutions, like I did with all the windows update errors, but I have yet to find anyone else with this problem.

Also I've tried microsoft's website, which is almost as bad as trying to solve your problems with the "get help" link you get when updates don't work
