if its from the adobe site as a trial version then yes , its fine. It is a very expensive program though , so unless she can get a student price on it I would steer her toward photoshop elements .
elements is a sort of starter version and costs less than $100. CS3 costs $600 + for the full retail version.

ummm...adobe photoshop is a heavy program...but usefull, but since its a trial i think that it dosent take much memory
the trial version is legal as long as she is getting it from a legit site (the adobe website or download.com), but if she is getting it from limewire or bearshare or something, then no, it isnt legit and she could be downloading a virus. it shouldnt add alot of crap, and if it does, just delete the stuff you dont need.

go to download.com and get the new version of adobe reader,it comes with photo shop,it is safe,the file is only about 10MB,the new version is called adobe reader 8.

yes it's legal just like buying the original software except with limited functionality they let you try the software before u buy to help decide if that the product u want before u pay for it
