It doesn't matter to me if the software is free or not. I am just needing a software that will convert pdfs to doc. I don't need it to be editable. In fact, it would be best if each pdf page showed up in Word as an image, with the wrapping style set to "tight". I've used Leadtools in the past, but since we got a new scanner, Leadtools no longer works. Batch conversions would be a plus, but I know beggars can't be choosers.

Rtf files and txt files will not be usable. I need the images to output to doc images. Thank you for any assistance!

If you have a Mac, Pages (part of iWork) will convert a PDF to a DOC file. Unfortunatly, I can't think of anything else that can do the conversion natively.

You can convert the PDF at no cost, at www.media-convert.com. I have used it, it is easy, and does a good job.

If you have downloaded Adobe Reader 8, click Help, then select Adobe Reader Essentials. You will be amazed at what you can do if you want to take the time.

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 8, and I just confirmed that it can be done. How you obtain this software is up to you...

Our company uses this one, it works well...even keeps ALL the layouts as best it can and puts it into MS Word:

It is way cheaper than Adobe Pro 8!
