i have a mac os x for the first time, can i ever enter chat and if not why not ?.........is the mac os 10 not compatible???

I have XP pro and when I put the disk in it wont install cause it says that my version is newer. But I still want XP pro on my computer. Can anyone help me with this? I've been searching through a number of different questions and answers, and trying many things but nothing helped.

here we go
i have mac osx panther in 5 .img files
im running os 9
what i want to do is burn the .img files to disks and boot them so i can install it on the mac
is there software that can do this, for free?
is there a cd-rw driver for the mac os 9, where can i get it?

and another thing if you dont mind
i have 2 drives in my tower mac g3
the one with the os is set as master the one that is (i think) pc formatted is set as slave, what i need to do is format the drive but when i power it on the mac comes up with a file sign that alternates between the mac os face and a question mark
what is going wrong and how can i fix it

I just bought windows vista and I just realised that there's alot of compatability issues related to softwares. So will microsoft launch some kind of update? so soon vista will be able to load older software for use, e/g flash mx or iclone studio? Whats going to happen because at the moment i'm stuck with using it and i really need to use my old softwares!

I don't think it's a virus because it's just in this one document. I can type over it as if it were an underline, but the underline function is not on. I can't seem to highlight it to do anything with it. If I keep hitting enter, it will drop down to the next page, but as soon as it goes to the next page, the line duplicates and then I have two lines. The first line, then, goes back to where it was. I can delete the second line but not the first.

I have just bought a HP printer.and while installingg it prompt me to insert my window xp service pack 2 cd.but apparently, when i bought my lappy, they didnt give me the cd. I have checked my system n it say service pack 2 is alrdy install. the file i need is usbscan.sys
anybody know if i can download the file or something?

I mistakenly chose one time to have it "not show this dialog again", and I sometimes would like to re-open my current tabs the next time I run IE7. Do you know how to be able to get this re-open option to appear again.

I got The upgrade to Windows Vista Home Premium so i can install on my XP Professional. I pop it in and it tells me i cant upgrade to Premium because XP is the Pro edition. And now I cant take it back to the store. The thing that pissed me off was that the box never told me this or the store. Im screwed. Is there any other way to put Vista on my computer?

"Document appears to be corrupt..........."Conversion may be incomplete".

I worked forever on a flyer via M Word. only to get that error message after trying to open it on another PC w/ both a cd & a memory stick. (& sure enough, I was only able to see the scanned drawing I did, not the text)

What went wrong? How can it be fixed?

As documents grow larger, the probability increases that Word will mess up the whole document format. If I change a paragraph to center-justified, ALL of the paragraphs in the document are treated the same, for example. As a document grows, it is more annoying to have to go back to re-format every paragraph. How can I avoid this?

I just recieved my new laptop from HP with windows vista business pre-installed. Is there a reason WHY the windows cd did not come with the computer??? Is there a way to get a windows cd since I purchased the license!!
