I don't think it's a virus because it's just in this one document. I can type over it as if it were an underline, but the underline function is not on. I can't seem to highlight it to do anything with it. If I keep hitting enter, it will drop down to the next page, but as soon as it goes to the next page, the line duplicates and then I have two lines. The first line, then, goes back to where it was. I can delete the second line but not the first.

Can't you just copy what you need from the document without copying that line and paste it to a new document?

See if this works. Helped me once when I was going nuts trying to get rid of a line.

To remove a line above a paragraph:

Put your cursor in the paragraph in the first text line below the border line
cl Format
Borders and Shading
cl the None box

To remove a line below a paragraph:

Put the cursor in the text line above the border line
cl Format
cl Borders and Shading
cl the None box

Try double clicking on it, it may be in header and footer which you can also access from the view menu
