Software - April 2007

I have windows 2000 currently installed with all my stuff on it and I just installed XP. The problem is I wanted to reformat and just have XP but my keyboard doesnt work in BIOS. So i installed XP through windows 2000 so is there anyway i can delete 2000 along with everything with it (except XP OS).

when i try to view a video from you tube it tells me "you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player." So it gives me a link to download the latest flash player.
so i go to the link and then i click the "install now" thing. i wait like for 10 seconds, But then it tells me "you do not have acces to make th required system configuration modifications. please rereun this installation from an administrators account ." But get this i am in an administrators account. i am i even spent half an hour making sure i am. please help me out!!!!!! how do i download it to my computer

My nephew somehow deleted all the modem files on one of my computers. The Modems icon even disappeared out of the Control Panel. At first I thought the modem had gone bad, so I bought a new one but I can't install it. Device Manager says it's in there and working properly but Device Manager is WRONG! I keep getting messages saying the modem failed to respond, and the modem information files are corrupt. Can I extract the files one by one from my Windows 98 installation disk? How do I find out what they are and where they go? Or is there an easier way?

My screen freezes about 2/3rds of the time. My stop and start sometimes takes 5 minutes or more. I think that if I got rid of the quick launch icons I would be able to start a lot quicker and maintain the "start" without a freeze; but I'm not sure the icons work this way. I sometimes run "run" by entering "misconfig" and unclick the start-up programs but that doesn't seem to have a great effect, though it does have a fleeting or small effect. I often click on a icon on my desktop and I can't get the program to run. I'm going insane!

When i use internet in my computer a waring come from Microsoft that " This copy of Windows did not pass genuine validation. The product key found on this computer was not assigned by Microsoft. and you may be in Victim of software counterfeiting"

1. why this problem come in my PC.

I'm buying this desktop for my parents. They dont need a "gamers" computer but they dont need the confusion of trying to figure out a new Windows formatt. They have an old comp running window ME (horrible OS) and they Have to upgrade from their Very old and outdated hardware.

Should we invest in a new computer and chance it with Vista? Or should we buy the already proven XP?

I bought two laptops with Vista to replace two older laptops. When I set up the laptops, neither installed 6 of the 13 programs I need for work and school. I've tried everything to get the programs to install. i used the compatibility wizard, safe mode, everything, and no go. everytime i tried, it says the program is incompatible with Vista. But now i've come to the conclusion this is what microsoft wanted. To stifle out their competition and to force consumers to buy microsoft labeled software.. We need to get something going and we need a class action lawsuit against microsoft for making a huge monoply out of this. And I am damned If i have to buy a new windows XP licence just to get the programs to work. M$ will no longer be getting my money.. screw them! i hope their developers are reading this!
