I have a DELL Inspiron 8200 that freezes up almost everytime I install service pack 2. It works fine without SP2, but I lost my original XP disk and I only got one with SP2 from dell recently. Does anyone know whats causing the freeze up? My computer freeze up as soon as it goes into WELCOME screen... then few minutes later boots up... then freezes up again.... and functions... and freezes up.

I need some help!

Im looking for a free software that can easily convert JPEG images from a digital camera to smaller size.
It should be able to perform the compression on a whole directory.

Please answer the following questions:

(1)Please tell how do I know whether I have a dynamic IP or static IP.My IP doesn't always change each time I start my PC but at times it does change.
(2)Is it absolutely necessary to have a static IP to download torrents?
(3)Which services do I need to enable to download torrents?

I am new with autocad so please bare with me. Do you need to have an auto cad file sent to you to view and edit it? Is it possible to open a tif or gif or pdf flie with autocad and make your adjustments and do your take offs? I was also thinking about and autocad lt program as I dont need the who lets build a house thing.

Okay for the details i didn't have room in my question, i have been getting hassled by something in my taskbar called "Spylocker" i did all i could to remove it but it is still there and apparently in my computer.. my antivirus quaritined it but it is still bothering me and still in my taskbar, if anybody can help i will be happy

I am going to get a HP pavilion a1200 i think it is and i want to do a fresh install of xp to clean out everything because its running crappy right now. it shows flash drives in MY COMPUTER, i think for the smart disk and other disks that it has drives to from like cameras and i think those should stay there when i do a fresh install. problem: i dont know if the motherboard drivers will be easy to find with the automatic finder from windows when i get SP2 or will i have to open it up and search for them manually? i haven't delt with hp computers before but i know Dell's are a pain in the butt but i dont know about HP. i have a motherboard support cd that contains chipset drivers of a motherboard and everytime i do a fresh install of any computer that is not customized, i use it to find the basic drivers but i was wondering if there was one that was for HP or that had its basic drivers in it or if there was somewhere that i could download them... contact me: young_ronnie_10@hotmail.com

I just installed win 98 se on an old computer from an old 98se copy installation cd.
The "speaker" Icon is not in the system tray and the device manager tells me it needs a driver. The device is simply called some generic audio device something or other. What can I do to get sound?

hello,
i have a psp and i am trying to download a full length movie to it, all in one file. my dvd decryptor is breaking the movie up into sections and then i have to watch each section individually. is there an editiong program out there that will let me splice all the sections together so i can watch it all at once ? thank you very much :)

I need to create a catalog of jewelry with pictures and use the file names as the captions when printing out.. Is there an easy way or program to use??... Kind of like a Proof Sheet, but I want the pictures like 2"x3" (roughly)... and 3x4 across the page.

What are these 2 things? I have a feeling the answer is pretty broad with a lot of information so minute detail isnt needed. Some1 told me that Windows is Linux based but imitates Unix on the web, hence all the shutdowns. Is this true? Anyway Id appreciate it if some1 could elaborate on unix and Linux for me.

i had this song that i wanted to cut in half so i could start the song from the midlle of song so i could put as a ringtone on my phone, but i took a 3.2 mb song and cut it in half and it became like 7.3 mb so i wanna know y when i cut the song in half the space doubles.....can i fix this?

I am looking for the main type of apps also:
1. Microsoft Office - What version should I purchase (prof, teachers, etc)?
2. What Virus protection software should I purchase?
3. Building Web sites and pages - what software should I purchase?
4. What Firewall protection software should I purchase?
5. What email software?

My Occupation: I am lucky enough that my hobby has turned into a full time job.

I want to start building a web site of my own instead of depending on someone else, and find some type of software that would help with the following:

1. Keep track of inventory, sales, bookkeeping, and etc.. for the used car business. Be able to post on the internet my inventory with pictures and also post on ebay. Keep track of prospects (possible buyers)- call backs, a calendar, keep track of their birthdays and when they need to service their car or truck.

2. Build web site for the business.

I am also looking for other types of software for heavy number crunching, analysis, stock analysis, etc.

Should I just use Filemaker??? and Quickbooks???

Please!!! Can anyone help???

My mom has MSOutlook and about three times a year, all of sudden when she goes to open it up, she finds that all of her messages in her inbox are gone - just gone. She didn't manually delete them. She had about 1000. Can anyone tell how that might be happening and also is there anyway to get them back or to stop this process from happening again. We are stumped. Thanks.

I have a computer that I bought from someone. It is fairly new, they sold it because they just were not computer literate. I can not remember what the password is and it is impossible to get in touch with the person I bought it from. It is just sitting there. Is there any way I can tap into it and change the password so that i can use the computer.
