I keep seeing these things about it and I have Home Premium, and I can't figure out how to use it. I know you should be able to see all of the programs you are on with it, but it looks exactly the same as before. Is there a button you have to press or a program you have to switch?

Windows Aero is the name of the visual style used in Vista. It should be set up automatically.

I think what you are thinking of is Flip 3D. What you need to do is hold down the Windows button and press tab, it will pop up on the screen. Keep holding the Windows button, then press tab repeatedly to cycle through the programs, then release the Window button to select a program.

Well actually I would have to see your computer stat's to understand what the problem is. If you bought your computer with Home Premium you should have it enabled as soon as you start up. However if you did purchase it from a retail then you might not have the graphic capability to run this advanced feature. Right click on your desktop, click personalize, and click Windows Color and Appearance. If a Window pops up that says Windows Color and Appearance, with Options below it such as Default, Granite, etc... and a transparency check box... then just select your theme and select transparency. Another solution might be a problem with a program you are running. Some programs do not alow you to use the Aero theme while you are running them, try closing all the programs you have open and in the taskbar and see if aero pops up or you see the options in Windows Color and Appearance that I was talking about.

It should automatically come up unless you don't have the minimum requirements. (1G RAM is required). Try this click here to run the Upgrade Advisor - it will tell you what you need to upgrade (RAM, video card, etc.):

If you have everything needed then type in "aero troubleshoot" in the Help and Support menu (click start and select Help and Support) and then choose "troubleshoot problems with Aero" (should be first in the list). Then read the info in "my computer meets the minimum...".
