I really don't know if that's why it takes so long to install windows media player on my computer. The times I tried to install it it took so long that I had to abort installing.

It takes so long probably because your computer is too FRAGMENTED since it most likely has only one drive, C:DRIVE so try to Defragment your computer more frequently and/or why not FORMAT YOUR COMPUTER AND INSTALL IT PROPERLY AS ADVISED ON THE WEBSITE BELOW

It sshould install right on top of WMP 10

Well, it should do it on its own
But sometimes it can be like a upgrade and its does remove it and replaces it with the new version
