physically you may be able to but legally you cant im afraid, anyway we dont know if the laptop meets the spesifications to run vista, it is a power hungry system that i would not recommend yet because of bugs, at the moment xp is a far superior system for stability and compatability with other software and hardware, i just got a new laptop and i looked hard for an xp one, this is of course just my own opinion

You mean a different laptop than the one you bought???? If so, you can do it, but that laptop wont be able to be authorized by Windows because the key is already been used on your new Dell.

No. You must purchase a copy of Vista for each PC that you wish to install it on. Vista will require activation, and can only be activated on one PC.

I would say yes. You bought it. You own it. You should be able to use it on any computer you own.
