Software - April 2007

I am going to be buying a new machine, and the dealer suggested that I move up to Vista. I tend to get a lot of use out of Office applications. I currently have Office 2000 (which I use) and Office XP and 2003 (which I do not use).

Can I use Office 2000 with Vista? What about Office XP or 2003?

When I double-click on the Train Simulator icon it just says 'Train Simulator requires Hardware Acceleration'. My acceleration is already set to full. I am running Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and DirectX 9 on a 1.1GHz processor. Can you please help me?

I want to copy subdirectories out of one directory but not all subdirectories but specific with special name starting,

As a example
xcopy C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS .\inbetween\WinSxS\x86_* /s/q

but it is not working

Any Idea?

hi
i have xp on C partition and i install win 98 on D partition, but when i restart the computer it is booting with only win98 its not showing both partition
what i do for it show both window when i start the computer.

in my 2nd computer when i start computer it is showing both choice for choose the window.

i burnt a disc for my friend using recordings from a video camera and dubbing from a vcr using a dvd recorder with a dvd-r disk. I created a custom menu with Roxio MyDVD v8 0 Premier Edition and it won't recognise the disc in the burner drive in my PC. Should I be able to burn this menu to the original disk?

i've tried pushing F10 when the manufacturer logo pops up whwn i start the computer to enter the boot setup, but theres no option to go into safe mode. theres only option on booting hardwares... please help me out....

After going online directly to microsoft updates and having the computer scanned for updates, it just hangs and hangs with the scanning being active but nothing downloads. We have let the computer hang for 30 minutes and nothing downloads.

There I am surfing harmlessly. I might click a link too fast or click it before the whole page loads. I dont know what, but the browser doesnt respond. I click again and it says "Not Responding" I try to close it asks if I want to close I say yes and that box doesnt go away. Ctry/Alt/Del and I get the taskj manager and try to close it that way and it might close after 45 seconds or so.Sometimes I have to do a cold reboot.
Using MSIE 7.0

Yeah, yeah, I know it will be some time before it happens, but I'm still curious.

Will anyone be able to anything with the code they want?
Will they be able to redistribute it legally?
What kind of features/components do you think they should add and/or take out?
What's the likelihood that someone will come up with a more stable and secure OS based on the Windows platform?

Hi, I am using a formula
=IF(H4=V4,(F4*G4),-(F4*G4)) and its working fine...

but the prblem is if i copy it to other cells
it is becoming as -
=IF(H5=V5,(F5*G5),-(F5*G5))
=IF(H6=V6,(F6*G6),-(F6*G6))
and so on..

But i want it to be
=IF(H5=V4,(F5*G5),-(F5*G5))
Do not want V4 to change to V5 and also i can not replace V4 with a constant value... please help/advise
