When I open a window or a document and I minimize it, the icon doesn't appear on the taskbar. How can I restore the icon on the taskbar when i minimize a window?

Sorry, but right-clicking on the window opened doesn't give that option; and right clickng on the taskbar and unchecked the auto-hide is for the taskbar. My problem is with the window or document i minimize that doesn't appear on the taskbar.

Look closely at the taskbar. Do you see one or more vertical sizing bars? There is one to the right of Start, another at the end of the icons on the quick launch, and sometimes another toward the right.

When you find one, hover the cursor over it until the cursor becomes a two-headed arrow. Drag the bar to the left or right and see what happens.

Could it be that it does show but it is grouped together with other like items? If so uncheck this option. Right click in the task bar. Select properties. Uncheck this option. The default properties in XP are terrible.
