adobe reader is free software used to view pdf files. it doesn't harm your computer.

Acrobat reader 7.0 is a free application software of Adobe Systems. This is used to read PDF (portable document format) file format. This can also be downloaded from Adobe's website, free of charge. It is widely used worldwide to view and print PDF files.

Install the Adobe Reader (Adobe Acrobat)...it's a good thing.
it's a handy tool to have whenever you search for something and the result is in PDF (.pdf) form.

PDF means Portable Document Format.
PDF is the file format for representing documents in a manner that is independent of the original application software, hardware, and operating system used to create those documents. A PDF file can describe documents containing any combination of text, graphics, and images in a device-independent and resolution independent format. No harm. the latest is version 8 though. It is simply a viewer for .pdf docs. You can't edit, only read. If you want to be able to edit the PDF, you would need Adobe Acrobat.

It is useful for reading pdf files. 7.0 loads faster than the older versions.
