i burnt a disc for my friend using recordings from a video camera and dubbing from a vcr using a dvd recorder with a dvd-r disk. I created a custom menu with Roxio MyDVD v8 0 Premier Edition and it won't recognise the disc in the burner drive in my PC. Should I be able to burn this menu to the original disk?

Nope, once the disc is burned it's burned . . . You'd need to create the menu, and attach it to the project you created, then burn.

DVD-R are write once media, and a menu has to be set to be 1st item to load, hence once there's footage on the disc, can't add a menu.
U will need to start again, or at least reload the video project and add a menu to it

ISO represents a CD / DVD image. You should not burn the .ISO like any other file on a data disc. Instead, you should burn its "contents". One single ISO file on a DVD will not work. You should install some "disc image burning" program (like Nero, or Alcohol 120%, or if you have Windows Vista / 7, you won't need a third-party program), then just open the ISO (or in Nero, select the option "CD/DVD Image", then select the ISO file), and then just click "Burn"... After the burn process completes, you should now see several files on your DVD (if it's a DVD movie, you should see the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders), instead of the single .ISO file.

It should work. I would contact Roxio for support.
