Hi,

U need to install win98 at first and then load Winxp, you can even do it now but is very complicated, try these below steps.

Follow these steps.

1. Backup your important files to CD / Flash Memory before u proceed to next step.

2. Create win98se Bootable disk, if u dont have, it get one from here www.bootdisk.com

3. Boot ur computer from newly created win98se boot disk. Remove ur existing partitions by using Fdisk / PQ Magic or similar programs.

4. Create 2 or more partitions using Fdisk / PQ Magic or some other similar programs to create the paritions program should works on Dos mode since we are using win98 boot disk.

5. Format ur "C" Drive to "Fat32" and run Win98 setup, install Win98se to "C" Drive

4. After Win98 Setup is completed, Insert Winxp Boot CD in the CD Rom drive and restart ur computer.

5. If ur Winxp is a Bootable CD, and if u have setted ur bios to Boot from CD Rom as First Boot device, during computer start u will get a message displayed saying "Press Any key to boot from Cd..." press "Enter" to proceed .

6. During WinXp Setup Wizard while choosing the Partitions to Install Winxp choose the "D" Drive and format this drive using "NTFS" Format and continue to setup.

7. At frequent restarts during Winxp setup "Do not press any keys" when u see a message "Press any key to boot from CD" if u do so it will start the setup wizard to start from beginning, just wait for few seconds this warning message will disappear to continue the remaining setup.

8. After Winxp Setup is completed successfully whenever u start ur PC. u will have a Boot Menu to choose either "Win98" or "Windows Xp" to start.

Hope this helps you.

if u have any problem msg me on messenger.

Regards,
Murugesh

You must Format your hard drive, then install Windows 98 first.

Then, install XP and all will be well.
