Software - January 2007

The program I want to have load does not have an option to automatically start up. I would like Windows to point to it when loading.

hi. download movies, which r in mpeg, avi formats. i tried burnig it on cd through nero express 6, but it shows some kind of codec errorrs. have wasted quite a few cds on this. do i need the latest nero or convert the files in some other format. any help will be greatly welcome.

What does it remove? What will be different? Why do people do it? What will have to picture files? Do I need to save anything I don't want to lose to a disk?

I have done it once but had a tech walk me thru it, she said it was called writing zeros? didnt understand but after we went through alll that, My pc worked. I really need some help. ALso when you all say do an install of xp not an upgrade, how do i do that? I bought the xp software and have upgraded on this pc once but had issue and am having to do it again but this time it is giving me major probs. I hope someone can help and thanks for all the tips!!!

We currently run off of a customized MS Access database which I developed. It takes an Excel spreadsheet of camper names, sex and DoBs from our database. We have add-on activities as well, which our accounting program (IBM AS400) exports in a funky manner so that data is entered manually. The database then runs simple reports with camp store money, check-in/out lists, add-on activity rosters, etc. We don't have the time to develop anything more complicated, or program an interface to let anyone use the database. So we are looking for good camp software which does this functionality, and possibly retreat center bookings if possible. We have heard of CampBrain and EZCamp, but not sure what else is there or any reviews of those two.

I'm aware of the basic differences between Dragon Naturally Speaking preferred and standard (eg, use with a dictaphone or pocket PC etc) but I'm wondering if Preferred is more accurate. A salesperson told me it was, but I've not been able to find anything to confirm this online. I'm wondering if he was just trying to sell my the more expensive product.

I just inserted a disk for a class for school and im trying to open it. A thing came up on the screen and says "From Windows explorere, click on the icon for your CD-ROM drive. Double-click on the Excel Files folder, the appropriate chapter file and the appropriate data file to open it"
But i cant find the icon?

Hello, whenever I try to download a torrent, it always runs at about 8 - 10 kb/s average, once it hit 80kb/s, but that's it.

I do run this torrent program at an internet cafe, is there a way to make this go faster?

The IRS only publishes the W4 as a PDF. My company is using software that will automatically fill this out, but it has to be in Rich Text Format. PDF conversion software screws the formatting up. Can anyone provide me with the W4 as a Word document or Rich Text Document?

I don't believe it's by using "System Restore," since that just goes back to a restore point. Does anyone know how to make my computer go back to when it was just-out-of-the-box? A lot of my programs aren't working; I think it's viruses or spyware, but I've run scans with many different spyware/anti-virus programs that don't pick up anything. Since I don't have any vital files, I'd like to know how to restore my system to its original settings. Help is much appreciated!

I was organizing my computer, (looking through the windows folder) and i noticed that eveything looked really messy so i put all the .exe files nicly into one new folder and all the .dll files into another folder and as soon as I finished it suddenly stoped working, anyone know what might be wrong???
