just don't download any kind of executable (.exe) file. those are almost always viruses. plus, limewire will tell you if a file is corrupt before you finish the download. it's relatively safe.

Yes, the Limewire official website does infact state that it is 100% spyware free amd legal. On further investigation it has been proven in fact that it is an illegal program and that upon downloading the program it adds undetectable viruses on to your computer. When the Limewire user deletes the program from his/her system the viruses and spyware are not removed and almost impossible to find. I would suggest avoiding the program and just using the old fashioned method of purchasing movies and music.

The software Llimewire is legal. The files people share on there are mostly illegal. And if you're going to download, always have anti-virus/anti-spyware programs before you download. And yes, you are likely to download viruses/bugs. The more you download, the higher a chance you have of downloading them.

Technically, it depends where you live. It is illegal in the US. It is technically not illegal in Canada and many other countries are undecided.
Limewire has some viruses and lots of fake files and/or low-quality downloads. It makes for a lot of work to save 99 cents, and it can be more expensive if an altered file damages your speakers.

We have downloaded off of limewire and got viruses two times. It cost us $139 to get the virus removed the last time after it froze up our computer so we don't use it anymore. Just be careful what you download.

wow, does nobody read the news? Filesharing programs are LEGAL. its what you do with the programs that is ILLEGAL. you can share non copyrighted media and documents but when you share copyrighted stuff you are violating the law.
Its legal to own and use a firearm, its illegal to shoot people with that firearm. same type of thing. rough analogy i know.
