Software - January 2007

I want to make copies for some friends and family of DVD's I've done with my handy cam and have DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter. Several people told me that these two programs will "do the trick". However, I find it very confusing at times. Can someone please give me a "laymen's terms" description or instructions with how to copy and BURN using those programs please? Thanks in advance.

I have a new DVD burner with light scribe, is this something that is possible using Nero, or do I need to put DVD disk in my scanner and scan it to a file and then burn it to new DVD disk that a way?

So my dads friend fixed my laptop for me.(it was a software problem).And i forgot to ask him to install the Japanese language pack so i could type in japanese for my friend who's english..is well..lacking.And he has the XP disc he used to fix the computer.Is there anyway to get the langauge pack without the XP disc?

HELP -- I have taken over a position that has the member database in Access and I need to change the "choices" in one of the drop down menus. I have very little knowledge of Access and neither does my boss --- is there a way to edit the drop down menu?

i have a video file that is hdtv resolution its like 720x1000 something you guys should know =]. and it is a .wmv file. i was wondering how to burn the file onto a dvd and be able to watch it on my dvd player and still retain its resolution. I tried using 2 softwares. dvdsanta and imTOO dvd maker or something. Neither of them could read the file. But if i use vlc media player or just the windows media player it reads it fine. Can anyone help me please?
Also i tried to burn it directly on a dvd disc and it wouldnt work with nero or the windows burning that comes with the comp. If i cant burn it to play on a dvd disc with the same resolution its okay. thanks =]

last week i just recovered my computer from it not starting up.I would turn it on and it would go through the normal boot process and thn it would restart.well i reinstalled windows and whn it started up it started making weird sounds like a coffee perculator but not as loud.my computer still works but its just that sound and i've noticed system speed has slowed down considerably.and it freezes everytime i open a program then after a minute the program opens up and everything works.

I moved my computer into a different room, and it worked fine, i brought it back into the original room, and all of the sudden, the cd-rw is unrecognized. Ive opened it up, and all the cables are tight, but it seems like the software has disappeared. How the hell does moving a computer erase software? I didnt drop it, i didnt shake it, i moved it into another room, like you take a newborn into another room.

Is it possible to have 2 operating system in one computer. If possible, I would like to know how to install linux operating system free of charge.

I bought my computer at Walmart and it had been returned. The disk to install the drivers and programs was missing. I guess the previous owner kept it. I had problems with the computer from the beginning. The internet person installed some of the drivers but I am missing a program(Nero Express) that came with the computer. I really want it and I need the program and driver disk to get it back. A friend just bought the same computer and I was wondering if I could just use her disk to reinstall the factory settings, programs, and drivers???

I have inherited a packard bell notebook, but it is unusable as the previous owner had tried to install windows xp proffessional over the original settings causing a system 32 error, we have ordered the restore disk from packard bell which should be here within the week but they mentioned we would need to "tattoo" Can anyone tell me how I go about doing this. My computer with its new mother board, got a worm for the first time ever. Had to go spend a grand on a new set up. The very first thing the tech asked was "Been using Yahoo Answers, huh?"
He told me it was full of people doing stuff like that. There at FRYS, a third of their business is repairing worms (when possible) and selling new boxes when they can't. What gives?
