for music it might be ok.
I have had cable last 4 years, i forgot what its like.

Its ok, depends on the file size you want to download. Files up to and including 10mb come down quite quickly considering. If you are looking at larger files (50mb) up, be veeeery patient, Im trying out a 121mb file at the moment and think it will take about 10 hours with a good connection and constant download of 5k a second.

Also expect to get a lot of replies saying 'Get broadband'. Dont pay too much attention, evaluate what you want to download.

Also dont worry about people downloading from you slowing you down. Set up a firewall.

Unless all you are doing is downloading images and small MP3 files, I would not waste my time with a dial-up modem to try and download files.

You will not be able to do anything else while it is downloading, people trying to upload from you will downgrade you because of the slow or limited upload ability.

Nope! Too slow. Ok if all you want to download is small pictures, but for music or even video u really need at least 2Mb broadband!

It will work but will be very slow. I would suggest getting a better internet connection if possible in your area

for 1 song its ok...if u don't mind waiting 15 min... for whole albums it would take me allday.but now i got highspeed and i love it songs download in a sec. but i use bittorrent which u can download whole albums in a matter of 45 to 30 min.

its ok... but only do one song or wotever your dwnloading at a time... otherwise it takes longer than doing one after the other... also dont open any more internet pages at the same time..

It's 2007 and there's still people using dial-up?! Switch to wireless already! It's cheaper, and faster...
