I have just bought a nano i pod 2 gb for my daughter, every time we use the thumb wheel the screen freezes, pushing the reset on the thing doesnt solve the problem, any other suggestions ? can i download free software for it ? the thing is driving all of us crazyyy

sounds like it's faulty... I've got one and it works fine. Take it back.

If a firmware update doesnt do the trick.
And a reset doesnt do the trick (holding the center button and up at the same time)
then its time to send it back to apple.

try plugging it into your computer, you may have to restore it using the itunes software. This happened to me!

If that doesnt work take it back, i had to replace mine a month after i got it due to problems.

Hope this works, I know how frustrating it is!

I would return it and get it replaced.It shouldn't be faulty when you've only just bought it

go on itunes
put your ipod in to your usb port.
Clcik on your ipod and then click restore..
This should work
