Choose save as ... and pick either rtf or txt file. Then you can open it in word. Be warned, some of the formatting will be screwy and not everything that's text will translate as text (some may be images).

There are multiple ways do do so:
1. Choose the software that converts PDF format to others, like PDFGrabber.
2. Using simple PDF reader (like Foxit) choose test highlighting option. Copy the document and paste it into the new Word Document. Note, that depending on the original format, your outcome results might need your addition text formatting.

You don't. A pdf file is an image---like a picture. You can't turn it into a text document.

If you have Adobe Writer i think you can do a SaveAs (or maybe even an export to) into a Doc format. If, you have Word installed also.
Otherwise i would check out www.download.com for a freeware program that will do that for you.
