I want to make copies for some friends and family of DVD's I've done with my handy cam and have DVD Shrink 3.2 and DVD Decrypter. Several people told me that these two programs will "do the trick". However, I find it very confusing at times. Can someone please give me a "laymen's terms" description or instructions with how to copy and BURN using those programs please? Thanks in advance.

The website doom9.net has several tutorials on how to create DVD's. The two pieces of software you have are used more for creating illegal copies of DVD's then simply copies of your own films. DVD Decrypter is used to remove copy protection and DVD Shrink is used to take a standard movie (7+ GB) and shrink it to fit on a single sided burnable DVD (about 4 GB). If you already have the films on DVD and your computer has two DVD players (one has to be a DVD burner) then you can download a trial version of NERO (www.nero.com) and do a DVD copy.

I'm not sure about DVD Decrypter because I use DVD43, but I don't think your personal DVDs are encrypted anyway.

Now on to DVD Shrink. First open it, of course, and make sure you DVD is in the drive. Then click on Analysis. Once it's done analyzing, click on Backup. This process takes a while. Take note of where the files are saved, preferably a My DVDs folder or something like that. Once it's done backing it up, you will need a separate program to actually burn the DVD. I personally use Roxio. Just click on Copy DVD and click the DVD-Video folder. That should do it. I'm not sure how to do it with other burning software, but you can probably figure it out. I hope this helps.
