So my dads friend fixed my laptop for me.(it was a software problem).And i forgot to ask him to install the Japanese language pack so i could type in japanese for my friend who's english..is well..lacking.And he has the XP disc he used to fix the computer.Is there anyway to get the langauge pack without the XP disc?

goto this path and do the following:
Control Panel>Regional and Language options>"Language" tab
From the"Supplemental language support" check the "Install files for east asia languages" and click OK to continue installation of East Asian Language support for your microsoft Windows.
after installation, you can read and write the east asian languages like japanese.
You can do this without Windows Disc...

I think you are supposed to download somehting different if you use Office XP:
