My PC has been infected with (Hacktool.rootkit) and other viruses. I have scanned my computer and removed all viruses. But this (Hacktool.rootkit) virus comes back every time i restart my computer in the folders like documents and settings temp,system32,wincab. i also can't view my hidden folders. I change the settings in the folder options but nothings happen ...Please help me ...Tell me what to do ...

each time i open something i click send error
and plus i also got rid of the corrupted file by cleaning my disk

my windows 98 finally after 8 yrs started causing errors and i let my cousin work on my pc, he installed his registered version of Windows XP Professional, and it will shut down soon without a working key. i have a brand new Windows Me i will install over it myself, my question is will installing a new window erase all my other progams i had installed so far including my internet connection to earthlink? it took me forever to get earthlink on the phone to get up and running this time. thank you in advance for your help:) i did not want an illegal windows!
