You know, if he's such a nutcase as to fool around with a man's computer, you should meet him at the door, and say, "Hey, let's head down to (the TV lounge, the student union, a restaurant or cafe -- ANYWHERE but your room!)" Computer defaults today -- he could be stealing from your wallet tomorrow.

If he's visiting your roommate, talk to your roommate about not letting him in. You guys'll have to agree on a strategy.

If it's a laptop, you could keep it shut down, and lock it in a drawer when you are not using it.

If you're using Windows you can set up a screen saver with a password.

If it's Windows XP you can set a password on your current user account then just click Start > Log Off > Switch User (or press the windows key + L) to lock the computer.

Set a password on your account (go to Users in the Control Panel) and then set the screensaver to go to Welcome screen after resuming (in the Screensaver properties) or log out whenever you leave it alone. Cake. No additional software required.

Oh and make sure the actual Administrator account has a password, which should be the case anyway.
