I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/... On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps

AVG Free is a AntiVirus Program. It stops Viruses, Malware & Trojans from entering your computer. You should remove Norton first, By Uninstalling it in the Add/Remove Programs menu in the Control Panel. Then Download the "Norton Removal Tool" from The Symantec Website - Google Search it. Windows comes installed with a Firewall that works very well. For Spyware, I recommend you download and install "Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5".
Hope this helps you!

AVG has all the protection in one package but it is not free.
I had Norton and I had a lot of problems. I uninstalled Norton first before installing the AVG online. After a few weeks or a trial , then you have a choice between buying or the free.
The free is for where there is only one computer in the home or a single user. And the bought is for home/business. I have both the AVG free antivirus and spy potection..No one in my home uses the computer but me.

AVG is a good antivirus butwhen it comes to spywares and adwares it lags a little. To strengthen it i use a combination of AVG, Spybot-Search&Destroy and Winpatrol. These tree freewares in combination provide me with the ultimate system protection my system should be having. I have not received any threats for the past four years of usage now. Give it a try and yes you have to uninstall Norton. These three softwares do a better job than the paid version of Norton.

My server installed AVG and I LOVE it! Yes, it's a good idea to have a backup firewall. I'm not sure about the Norton, but what I did was call up my server and they cleaned up my files and installed spyware and AVG and I've had no problems. Hopefully your server has some kind of tech support system. They didn't even have to come out here! All by remote control. Good luck to you.

AntiVirus: Avast! homestead version , AVG unfastened version or Avira. i could advise avast! homestead version, AVG is nice yet each so often stupid and Avira has many fake positives. FireWall: Comodo own Firewall, Zonealarm unfastened or Sygate unfastened. AntiSpyware: Spywareblaster&Spybot seek And injury pass nicely jointly, in no way had a situation and that i'm utilising the two one among them for it sluggish now. you additionally can use A-Squared unfastened, AdAware unfastened, Microsoft's homestead windows Defender or SuperAntiSpyware. All of those applications are unfastened. be effective to in basic terms use a million firewall and a million antivirus! Having dissimilar antispyware courses isn't a situation.
