Im currently using kaspersky anti virus. And using windows defender.

What I was wanting to know is do you think I should use windows defender or go get something else. Im using it because it came on my new pc (vista home prem.)

Do u think windows defender does its job because windows one care to me SUX and if its anything like that I think I may should get something else.

Hi. I am having a problem with my computer and it is VERY serious. We own a business and really rely on this computer working properly all the time. I dont know if it is a virus or what, but I get tons of pop ups. All kinds of advertisements. Even my 2 pop up blockers wont stop these things. I get so many all at once that it makes my computer freeze up. Right now I have some news audio playing and there is no media player open. I cant make it stop. I opened the task manager and the only thing it shows running is Yahoo Answers. I really need to be able to fix this problem. It would be horrible if I had to take this thing and get Windows reloaded right now. I have LOTS of customer info and our business software on here. How can I fix this? I am desperate. Please help.

does anyone know of one that i can download? NoAdware v 5.0 is considered the best on some sites but i have to buy it in order to delete it. I need one that allows me to scan AND DELETE the spyware cause my computer goes 1/3 as fast as it used to.
Also, pop-ups appear even if i don't open up Firefox and my pc crashes alot

I know all about how computers can be hacked but can faxes being sent be intercepted. Sometimes people are faxing very confidential info.

Ok - I know the following code can do it:
net stop MSSQLServer

but I want to double check that this will ONLY shut down the local MSSQLServer on my personal machine - and wont affect the crucial ones on the network.

I keep getting this pop up telling me that I have Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx Type:Spyware/Trojan
How do I get rid of this? I've tried adaware, and a2squared and none of these are working. They both find infected files but they don't go away. I'm running Win 2000 and IE6
Can someone please help?

It goes like this, I'm using IE7 and when I open the browser.. Say to look up something in google, I'm minding my own buisness but all of a sudden a window pops up telling me my virus software has expired (It hasen't) or some other ad and this happens on lots of different websites thats why I think it's on my hard drive. I've done virus scan scans with lavasoft ad-aware and I have a firewall and a popup blockerand I'm usually very carful on the internet. Please Help I don't want to reformat my hard drive but... it's getting more frequent and more annoying. By the way I'm using XP SP2 MCE 2005 also I keep getting warnings from my virus program telling me that "A Virus Has Been Detected" even when I'm not actually using my computer

I have norton antivirus protection and It has expired. Unfortunately, I can't afford to purchase the updated protection right now. I use firefox as my browser. Thanks so very much for your time...I'm freaking out over here 'cause I just had a virus last year....please help!!

I added a tracking program to my "MYSPACE" page and I've noticed that the same IP address keeps checking out my site. Unfortunately the tracking system only provides a series of numbers (68.23.45.etc.) and identifies those numbers as the IP address. It then says "User Unknown". So I'm wondering if there's a way to identify this person by those numbers provided. Please help and thanks in advance!
