You need something much better. I'll also explain how to remove it too.
1st, don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.
2nd, You need some of the best software out there. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is elite software. It blocks over 171,900 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none.
3rd, after you install and update the software, since its in your system you will have to turn off system restore and then go into safe mode and run the scan and eliminate the virus. then after removal, reboot and turn system restore back on.
4th, any probs during or after you do all this, send me an e-mail.

What program is giving you the popup about a Trojan horse infecting your computer? Is it your antivirus program? Most antivirus programs scan and remove Trojan horses as well as viruses. On a few occasions, antivirus can mistakenly detect a file as malicious when in reality it is safe, what people call a "false positive." Try this, download and install BitDefender Antivirus Free Edition. The free edition does not offer any real time protection by everything else works fine. You can download it at (http://www.bitdefender.com/site/view/Download-Free-Products.html). Update and then run a scan with BitDefender. BitDefender had the highest detection and removal rates among antivirus program, beating out both Symantec and McAfee. You should start Windows in Safe Mode and then run the scan.

There is no such "real" W32@mx. that you are seeing. It is a scam to attempt to get you to purchase a rogue malware removal product. The popup about "W32@mx.", is always false, phony and fradulant. The actual trojan that has caused your problem is no doubt one of the hundreds (now in the thousands)of varients of what is commonly called "Zlob".
But your computer is indeed infected. This infection is called Smitfraud and it will give you phony scam virus warnings( and often redirect you to a site selling a bogus anti virus product), trying to sell you junk such asPest Capture, Pest Trap, Virus Burst, Spyware Quake and other non working anti virus apps.
Information and procedures for removal of Smitfraud are here:
http://www.internetinspiration.co.uk/roguefix.htm
and here:
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php
and here:
http://wiki.castlecops.com/Malware_Removal:_SpyAxe_Removal
Most "All-Purpose" malware apps such as AVG, Norton, Spybot etc unforturnayly can not remove this vile pest called Smitfraud.
Good luck

Your computer is infected with Trojan.Zlob, that's why you are getting the "Trojan-Spy.Win32@mx" alert message from your system tray (it is located near your clock). For more information and removal try this link and remove is free manual instructions..

Try using an anti-virus program to remove the infected file. The two programs you listed are anti-spyware, which usually do not remove viruses. If you have an anti-virus program and it's still not removing it, you can run the program in safe mode by restarting your computer and hitting F8 while it loads. Then select boot in safe mode.
