It's probably unethical, but suppose there was a hate website out there that you think a lot of people would like to see taken down, but is nevertheless protected under freedom of speech. Could you hypothetically write a program that gets distributed via an email chain letter and once installed on a computer, starts pinging the target website. Once the program's been distributed around enough, the website won't be accessible because of the ping jam.

Technically, it's feasible: that's what certain viruses do. But would it be legal, since unlike a virus, you are asking people to voluntarily take part in the "attack"?

Okay, so i have a trojan virus on my laptop and i need to know how i can get rid of it. It really sucks cuz i got it by goin to an mp3 site and then the site lead me somewhere else (which was porn) and then something downloaded. i was like wtf?!?!? i scanned it on my laptop and it says that i have spyware and a trojan. i also can't put any background on my desktop and it only shows when i turn off or turn on the computer. and i can't even go to windows movie maker and my project is unfinished for school. it says there was an error then it shows that send error report thingy. i really need help.

Someone Hacked my computer and installed a keyloger, break in to my mail and pics...and I will like to close the ports on my computer...I have WiFi card, spyware and Antivirus but still had this done....can you help? how do I close the ports ? and how can I block this person from doing it again? Change my IP address?

Over the last week or so I'm receiving mails from Paypal, notifying me that e-mail addresses have been added to my account. I don't even have a paypal account! In the mails there also are links that I'm suppose to click to prevent the mailaddresses being added to my name. When I click those in the first mail, I discover what I already know: that I'm not a member of Paypal! In the second mail the link leads to a site that has nothing to do with Paypal!
I'm afraid of phishing! What should I do? The mails come from a no-reply mail address and I'm in Europe!

Today I downloaded a game to my pc, and after a while I've noticed that my antivirus wasn't working. I uninstalled the antivirus, and tried reinstalling it but it said something about not having access to a file.
I tried to install Kaspersky antivirus, but it says the same thing about a file.
Please, what can I do now?

i disabled windows firewall and all possible programs that could have firewalls, yet all P2P and torrent programs think i have a firewall enabled, maybe its my router or modem, can anyone tell me how to fix this? Or even how to detect what firewall i may have? I already disabled my router firewall by the way and went to portforward.com and created access ports for my programs, after this, it usually fixed the NAT but not this time, it just happened out of the blue. So i dont know where the firewall is coming from, all else i can say is that i have verison dsl and skyrocket voip.
