I get these pop-ups that display where I live, my IP Address, my computer system, my internet broswers and all this other stuff. Is there some way to block my information from showing up?

They said that avg 7.5 version of antivirus is only free trial for 30 days---is there another free one i can use. The older version of avg 7.1 was free to use now the new version syas it is only good for 30 days.

my tool bar under the main one (w/arrows left & right , refresh, home, search, etc.) does not have the line for http://.........
I'm trying to down load and get the run around, with lost of pop ups. help please!!

I use broadband but I need to also use dial up to sign into certain servers which are incompatible with my ISP. However, as soon as I plug the phone cable into the computer, it effectively picks the receiver up immediately. It does not dial out but it prevents me dialing a number through dial up. No programs need be running when this happens. Any ideas why?

I did a free scan with this ParetoLogic software and those are the items it came up with. They find them, but they won't remove them or quarantine them unless I buy their software, of course.
I am already running ZoneAlarm, Superantispyware, AVG, Search&Destroy and AdAware and none of these has picked up anything. Matter of fact, according to them I'm as clean as a whistle. I update them almost daily and run them just as often.
Is ParetoLogic just making this up to get me to buy their software in panic or are there real threats involved here? Why doesn't any of my software pick up even one of these items??

It changes my home page to "Gophersearch" and sends all kind of pop-up windows (lottery, dating, xxx,etc). Also, it creates links within words. For example, from the word "Add", it will hyperlink "Ad" to send you to another page.

Hi, I am using Windows XP Pro SP2.
For several days my computer has been used as a spamming email machine, how do I know that?
I know because I was using Norton antivirus with it's email scanning capability active!
Suddenly my laptop's desktop started to get flooded with many many small windows from Norton's email scanning module that were showing where the email was beeing sent, it's title (that's how I know that they were sending out spam advertising) and also that it is being scanned/rejected/unable to be sent!
My computer gets overload so I had to deactivate email spamming! But my computer kept being very very busy. I unistalled Norton and tried AVG and NOD32. I think the last one did something but I am not sure if the problem is solved!I always check windows task manager and the local area connection status window to show any "redundant acticities".
How can I be protected from this once and for all?
I try to avoid heavy programs such as Norton and Mcfee!!

Window washer.....AdAware and the Microsoft Malware catcher could not fix it. Any ideas other then buying a new computer or putting in the restore disk that I have lost?

I have seen several program that are free but only to scan. I am talking about the programs that really get in there and find them, remove them totally fromt he system, this includes getting the pieces out of the registry.

is it possible for a virus to disable the entire hard drive a computer rendering it completely "broken"? at first in the story it starts as a joke, but eventually gets out of hand by affecting more and more computers(maybe other electronics?) i need a believable way for this all to happen? can someone help me?
