Security - November 2006

I did what everyone said and tried to create a limited user account for my internet browsing, but i still got a virus on the main account.
Can someone tell me how this is possible?

there is a taskbar icon that is monitoring my files but i'm not to sure if its working, in task manger under the applications tab it is "not" running, what other way can i find out if my antivirus is running or not , thanks

I frequently clear cookies, history, temporary and off line files but when I enter a web address in Windows XP explorer I see all of my previously visited web sites as I type the name. How do I remove these and the name options that appear on a pop down list when I enter my login name into sites such as Myspace.

I downloaded utorrent, and now I want to delete it off my computer. It looked at the FAQ's and it said delete the exe. I have no idea what that is or how to do it. My Norton antivirus keeps saying something is invading my computer, and it gives the location. So, I went to that location and deleted the folder, and file.... then got rid of it out of my recycle bin. The norton antivirus message keeps coming up. Please help!!!!

it seems lately that when ever i walk through a metal detector in stores it always goes off. Obviously i don't steal items from stores so i am curious if it could be an article of clothing, jewlery, keys etc etc if any one knows feel free to answer

I am using SYMANTEC.Have a lot of Symantec email scanning popping up my screen and Symantec email proxy with all kinds of error message popping out too. Auto protect detect TROJAN but full scan detected nothing.Please advice as all of these message popping up drives me crazy. Administrator cannot fix and say my computer have to be formatted. I have download AVG,AOL antivirus but all were fail because of admin restriction.Please advice how to fix these problems as there are administrator restriction.

I saw that there was spy ware someone can use to monitor your emails, chat, and deleted files. I would like to keep my personal life private without someone ever being able to scan my computer and find private emails, chat or deleted files. If I could find some software to detect if some has installed such software on my computer that would be great, free if possible. I also would like to know the best software to use to clean your computer of all items for safety.

I have scan and deleted any ref. to google in my registry, I keep dleating a folder that keeps coming back called google.com I have uninstalled anything for google but after a reboot google.com is my home page just like some spyware, adware trojan some virus my spyware remover virus scaner and trojan remover don't reconise anything but google.com is a bad nightmare on my computer which is pretty funny cause we always used google.ca and before if we called up google.com it would automaticallly send us to google.ca any ideas

I was in chat and someone sent me an Im asking me to download a .zip file for him because the website was blocked on his computer. The file was downloaded from rapidshare website. Could my computer be in jeopardy, my passwords ect?
