Get 2, Spybot and Ad-aware. They are both available for free. Run one and then run the other. Between them, they are very effective at detecting and removing spyware. Google for downloads.

Ad-Aware SE Personal is free. http://www.lavasoft.com/ . If you need forum help with Ad-Adware, I would suggest Landzdown, http://www.landzdown.com
Spybot-Search & Destroy is free,
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
Their forum is good too when you run into problems or can't get rid of some spyware/malware. Unless you are really experienced, I would not activate (check) Tea Timer when you install it. It has to do with the registry and unless you understand the registry, it can really mess up your computer.
Spywareblaster stops it from getting into your computer to begin with, http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html .
Hope this helps.

Try cc cleaner for registry fixes, you don't mention what free programs you have but go to Cnet and check the reviews for yourself and then decide what programs you want! Peace!

Spybot Search & Destroy, and AdAware. I use them both, Spybot has a resident that blocks many known bad addresses totally. They are both free, and available from various download sites. I give one for each.
