Too much there are as good / better free alternatives such as grisoft.com 's AVG and avast.com 's avast both are free antivirus detectors and removers, there is also spybot search and destroy and plenty of free firewalls

At newegg.com, a very popular online store for computers and accessories, Norton Antivirus $37.99. Some one mentioned purchasing it from Ebay. I would not recommend doing so. Ebay is filled with pirated versions of most software programs, including Windows operating systems. Oftentimes, these knockoffs don't work or they can not update since Microsoft and Norton both use validation processes to check the genuineness of the software. Don't buy Norton! It's a piece of crap. Get a good, but free antivirus program. Here you have some options:

Do not use free anti-virus programs from the internet!!! If you are going to buy Norton or McAfee you can get the whole security suite package that includes everything you need for less than $30 from Ebay, this includes the newest 2007 versions and shipping. Do not buy this software in stores like walmart and bestbuy, way over-priced. Go to Ebay and type in 2007 norton security suite and click, then go to right of screen and choose lowest priced items first, my friend and I just installed new Norton and it works great.

Save your money. Norton is junk. I recommend active virus shield. It is very good and it is free.

about 34.99 for a years subscription and about 75 to 80 for 2 years. cheaper to go yr by yr so I dont know why they offer a more expensive 2 yr package.. be sure to watch out for their auto subscribe function as theyh can charge you without you knowing it when yr subscription expires

norton sucks- http://spywareterminator.com is free and much better also spybot search & destroy & adaware se personal all from http://www.pcworld.com and you can run all these together with out any conflicks
