The virtual memory on my computer is almost full. I am not computer savvy, want the easiest way to create more space, by eleminating unwanted pictures and images, I was told that pictures take up the most space. My computer is slow to come on although I have highspeed internet. Any suggestions you might have in common everyday terminology would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Okay well i downloaded the sims 2 but when i try to play it it says:
"Failed to find any DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics adapters in this
system! Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0c... yadda yadda yadda"
Well, I have DirectX 9.0c. i followed the help and it said to RUN:DXDIAG, so I did it. I went to 'display' and At the bottom, it says "The system is using a
generic video driver. Please install video driver provided by te hardware
manufacturer" AND "Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify
that the driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer."
and i honestly have no idea what to do I just want to play sims 2 someone please help me!!

i have winamp and a plugin, but i cant fathom out how to record or save the file in its inverted state. Can anyone help please? maybe you have had the same prob? Im trying to strip the vocals in order to obtain a backing track that i can then mix.

I can view profiles
But Whenever I try to go home
It wont let me.
When i try to go it keeps saying " cant find server" or "action cancelled". None of my friends are having this problem and i am the only one..... What is going on and why does it take SO LONG for them to fix things? Its been like this since FRIDAY.

has anyone been experiencing problems with that awfull bt yahoo browser,it seems to take twice as long as i.e7 and firefox,and locks up every so often
i know its not a memory problem as i have 2gb ram so all i can imagine is its a bug or something in the browser
is the bt yahoo browser a form of internet explorer or is it a totally differently designed browser?

i have 4 split files ~~name.zip.001... .zip.004. the program used to split them is called HJ File Spliter, i followed the instructions, i clicked "join" and browsed to the folder, it only shows one of the four files, there is a side note that says, " To join a set of files,please first open the .001 file using the 'Input file' button. If the other files (.002, .003, etc.) are in the same directory they will be found automatically." then i got a file called ~~name.zip. I assumed that i should click "extract here" and this is the message that i got, "~~name.zip: Either mulipart or corrupt ZIP archive" now i'm not very computer saavy, but i do know enough to be slightly dangerous to myself.. lol! please help! Thanks.

At age 6 He got his first Computer a Compaq Presairio
at age 7 He Put in a Networking card in it
at age 9 He replaced the CD Thing And the Disk
at age 10 He Replaced the Ram and the Power Supply
at Age 11 He Replaced the CPU And the Motherboard
Ram still Worked On it
Now he's 12 and his friend asked him to build a computer for him, It's Halfway done as the part Company sent Bad RAM, Was broke in half on delivery
so i was wondering,
Is this Normal for a 12 Year old, I am asking because he only has 1
Friend And i don't think a should base it on that
All Of his other Friend's Moved away because of the Tornado's

My computer is not WiFi enabled, but I have a WiFi homehub from BT.
The other laptop in the house is WiFi enabled and can pick up the connection, but when I click on the connection name it comes up with an error.
Is this because my computer is not WiFi enabled?

My new computer's brand name is Hewlett Packard. However, when I surf the Internet, sometimes my computer "shuts down itself" when I didn't request for it to be shut down. My computer is set up to be an automatic shutdown which means that I don't have to turn the computer off. However it is very annoying to surf the Internet when the computer is going to turn itself off. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

I formatted my c drive which had win 98 on it. I rebooted with the 98 SE Cd-Rom in the tray. The setup was going all by itself just like normal, than the disc quit reading and it froze up. Now when I reboot, it says "Invalid System Disc" whether the CD is in the tray or not. I at least want to restore the PC back to normal if the 98 SE install wont work. Any suggestions??
