Smoke is pouring out of the sides, and as soon as I get out of the tub I am planning on calling tech support. Is there anything I should do before that?

Usually, when Power supply is too old, and encounter electric spike...will kill it. When that happened, you'll smell burnt wire and smoke. Try unplug all the devices, then re-hook your pc/ switch on/ check if any fan noise from the 'top-back' of your pc box.
When death silent, then it is Power supply problem.

Replace it is simple: buy 1 cost about $20 and a set of cross screw driver. Unplug the electric cord, unscrew the 4 screws attached you power supply, unhook all the power connection between components inside your PC ( try mark and tape with notes, in case you forgotten which is which ). Replace it with the new one and repeat previous process in reverse.

It's unlikely CPU fan, cause most of the motherboard has heat detection nowadays. Everything will auto shut if over heated unless you overclocked it and did some twist in the board or with CMOS.

Other possibility:
When Laptop moisture sipped into the unit, current pass through devices such as hard drive or silicon chips... although person wouldn't electrocuted with a battery laptop in the bathtub :) but the laptop components will fry. If that's the case, you better off buying a new one. Unless the problem is simply hard drive failure due to shock.

First of all, you shouldn't be typing this in the bathtub. Secoundly, you should unplug the computer and possibly take out the battery. Call tech support.
