i bought a new computer 3 months ago and been using norton anti-virus/firewall protection that was already on my computer from the shop.

ive been really happy with it, but the suscription as just run out, i can still use it, but not protected against new threats.

i don't fancy paying £30 to renew it though, is there any tips?

they finally stay large and the page is so large that it does not fit into the screen of my hppavilion ze4910us. Is there a way I can make it stay on the small sized icons and type and page size.?

I just a external harddrive. I have a macbook pro, and the icon for the harddrive appeared on my desktop. i clicked it and there was an autorun icon. so i clicked that, then it said i had to choose and application. How am i supposed to know which application to pick?

I have a LaCie external drive. It's 500GB, i's got 2 drives in a RAID... 1? I think is the simple striped set for performance. Anyway, it 's hooked to my PC with firewire. I'm trying to figure out if I should use that drive, or an internal SATA drive, for programs that have large temp files.

I accidently sent a photo I wanted to the recycling bin. I clicked on the bin to open it to recover the photo but I ended up clicking on empty instead of open. I desperately need this picture and it was the only copy I had of it. Is there anyway I can still recover it from my computer?

I have windows xp and I want to sell this computer to a friend. I want to erase all data from my hard disk so that he can have a fresh start. Also I do not have system restore feature to restore the computer to a factory settings. I do not even have system CD's nor windows recovery CD. Can someone plz help me out.

I copied a video and I copied it in the wrong region and wont play. So Im trying to delete it and i cant. I right clicked it and the delete option is not there. Its saved in the Devices with removable storage in "My Computer". How can i check where the region is so i can get it right this time? Is it on the case?

Okay, here's the deal. A way while back I went into Rockyou.com & made a slideshow of all my favorite movies. I saved it for the time being & was going to work on it later. Well, when I came back to the site there was no way to sign in. It has a place to put in your e-mail address but that's it & when you enter it, it never does anything. I have contacted them a million different times & most of the time they've replied back with "oh, there was a bug," "we've fixed it now," & it is still exactly the same! They sent me a link to what I had created but I can't sign in & edit it or make anything else to save either, it sucks! I have went into the FAQ & read over what to do if you can't login or have trouble, etc & I've tried everything it says. Am I not doing something right? Do you have this problem? Can you sign into this website? Do you have any advice for me? Thank you for your time!

I'm on a school network and when I tried to use my computer, it said I needed the latest updates, as it always says, before I can access the Internet. But on the Windows Update site it just appears to load the updates I'll need (the green bar scrolls across) but after about 15 minutes, it just gives me an error code (0x80072F78).

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this? I thought maybe I could download the updates from my friends computer that I'm on now and put them on my computer with a floppy disk but I don't know how to do that either.

I have contacted Microsoft but they haven't given me a solution that works yet.

I made a shortcut to the recycle bin, thats in my quick luanch bar, and now want to delete the original icon from the desktop. I just need good instructions so that I can do this. And if i delete the original icon will the shortcut not work? Thanks, Brodster
