When I try to save, it says, "Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error..."

When I try to make folders as Oscar suggested, it says, "The directory or file cannot be created."

I have not yet tried Linux's suggestion of reformatting because I do not want to lose everything on the flash.

Regarding McLaren's suggestion, how do you unlock?

Dee, or anyone, please help?

Reformat your flash drive. The filesystem has probably become corrupted (especially if its FAT32).

If you're using a MAC, you might have "trash" files on the drive that haven't been deleted completely yet. You have to empty the trash bin before they'll delete off the drive.

if you have a lot of files on the root of your drive it will not let you save anything else on the root. create folders and put some stuff in there if this is your problem
