i downloaded a pc game (prey) from limewire. i cant figure out how to install it as it is in the form of dat files. i've spent the last 2 hours searching online and turned up no answers. someone plz help!!!

You got something wrong. Executable programs under windows have the extension .exe. You could try to rename the file setup.exe and see if it runs.
With that said: anything you get on limewire shouldn't be trusted-- for all you know it could be a trojan horse program or virus.
Second, that is a fairly recent game, and clearly it's not free, although many games have playable demos you can download from reputable sites.

Dat file can store only video. u go that side and download the installation file like .exe

Mounting only refers to virtual or physical disks, so you can't mount a DAT. I don't know what you mean otherwise. Maybe you should try reinstalling .NET (the latest one AFAIK is 2.0).
