When using the System Restore function on my computer(I have Windows XP) I get a message stating that my computer was not able to restore the time to an earlier date. Help!

Sounds like you are either trying to restore to a date where there is no restore point, or you never created any. System Restore cannot work without a restore point to use. Normally, if you make a major change to your system; install or uninstall something, Windows automatically creates a restore point. But if there is nothing there to restore from, it can't restore your system. Hope that helps.
