hi,
i am using external Ip address, my Pc Ip address is different than the external Ip, can any one tell me how i can hide my external ip address form the websites

Ok I purchased a refurbished computer from hp about 4 1/2 months ago. I made recovery disks when I first got the computer. And a couple months later I went to use them and they did not work. So I called them and ordered a set of recovery disks. They did not work either, a message popped up on the screen saying the product id does not match computer hardware or something along those lines. So I then called them and they said they might have sent to wrong disks, so they sent another set. Which did not work again! Then they sent another set, which I received today and were the exact same one's they've been sending me. I called and talked to someone and they said I would have to pay over 200 dollars for my computer to be fixed. My computer is out of warrenty (only 60 day warrenty) and I don't feel like I should have to pay for something that I didn't cause. It is not my fault the cd's won't work and the hardware is faulty. What do you think I should do? Its not fair what so ever!

I can honestly say I have taken good care of my computer for 4 years, and never had any problems I couldnt overcome. But recently there is one problem that has left me scratching my head.

this is the scenario, I am sitting there listening to music via mediamonkey, watching videos on youtube, then all of a sudden, all sound stops, I check the volume, eveything is fine, then I check the player and see that the song has been paused, I press play nothing happens it is still paused and it refuses to play anything,
I open youtube and try to play a video and looks like that has been paused too and try to play the video and same thing happens, I try itunes, wm player, and they all refuse to play anything, so i end up logging off and resarting, this fixes the problem but only temperarilly. The same problem returns only 45 minutes later, this has been hapenning for a week now and I am getting tired of it, please help me diagnose my issue.

I've been buying tv shows on iTunes that I miss when they're on TV. Since buying them costs as much as buying them on DVD, I'd like to know how I can burn them onto DVD..
I've checked other answers here, but most of the links are broken.

how do i join files together ? when i burn dvds i get spaces inbetween each file just saying nero vision for a couple of minutes i know u can join them so its just runs as 1 movie but how ? simply please im not pc literate so no technical stuff please

I never had any kind of Messenger anywhere I've been, even ISP's. I am curious about them the more I learn to like the Answers feature BUT I am a very private person! I don't want to be insulted or get dirty IM's because I get down sometimes. Should I try one or leave it alone? Please answer only IF you are serious and can help me! I sure don't need to make anymore mistakes on the PC than I already have! Some of the people who have answered my questions sound so cool at times and I wish I could talk about it more with them. And there are times I answer someone else's question and I wish I had more time or space to tell them all I could from personal experience, etc. Both ways! So is it worth the loss (is there much loss?) of privacy to find some of these people on Answers or would I just be setting myself up for trouble? Maybe I'm dreaming to think an IM would turn out to be fun. There ARE some nasty jokers on Answers and it would be just my luck for them ALL to torment ME! So????

all of a sudden, my computer is deathly slow...it's ridiculous. and it wasn't always like this. i haven't installed anything on it lately, except for mcafee virusscan, and i've gotten rid of some viruses (thinking it might speed it up).

also, it keeps shutting down on me (about once a week) and then it will go to the screen that checks for inconsistencies before turning on the computer...and it takes 14 HOURS for it to get to 100%. not exaggerating!!!!!

what can i do without doing anything too drastic? (yes, i'd like to take a sledgehammer to it, but obviously i'd be without a computer then.)

Every time I go to the Windows update page I get the message "Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer. To continue:" then I click on the "Register or reinstall the files for me now". After brief downloading & registering status messages, it just takes me back to the first page again (that I don't have the necessary files). Can anyone help?

One week ago I bought a HP Pavilion a1620n with Windows XP Media Center Edition with Service Pack 2. It won't let me install Active X for the coupon print manager. It tells me to click on the blue shield to allow Active X to install, but the blue shield is not there. I have the Internet Explorer Tools, Security at defalut leverls and privacy at medium. I even tried lowering the privacy and allowing everything in the security to see what was blocking it, but continured to get the same message. Can someone please help me get Active X? I have tried HP Tech and they can't find a solution and Microsoft won't help, because WIndows was pre-installed on the computer.
