Firefox and Opera are considered the best by many. Definitely not IE 6/7.

Seamonkey is also good, but Firefox is better for mainstream crowd.

You can add functionality to firefox with addons. It has a huge database of addons to add just about any functionality that you can think of.

Opera already has much functionality built in 'right out of the box'.

I used to use Opera, but since have switched to Firefox a couple of years ago and have not looked back. I believe Firefox is the superior browser.

The worst threats of viruses are of-course come from the internet. Whether we download a cracked version of software or download anything from an un-reliable website.
The only way to make a dive ahead of viruses is to use a secure browser.
I have used Internet Explorer 7, Opera 9.0.2, and Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.1.
Nothing is best than Firefox 2.0.0.1. First I used to use Opera but later I moved at Firefox 2.0.0.1 because its simple and makes a tight secure. As most of the people use IE (Internet Explorer) the virus writers target it. When the topic comes to the licensing, Firefox leads as it is open-source, many people around the world work for it. The same cannot be said about Internet explorer.
As far as functions are concerned, Opera is the best.
If you want Security, Firefox is the best,
and if you want viruses, stick to Internet Explorer.

I have never heard of SeaMonkey, and I will vote Mozilla Firefox the best, as will many others. It's way better than IE 7.

Firefox is best but the same time for the scripts to run correctly use Internet Explorer. If you want to have both the features of Firefox as well as Internet Explorer, try using MyIE2 Web Browser or Maxthon. This gives you tabbed browsing and good security with popup and ad blockers.

I prefer FireFox. It's faster, smaller and much more secure than IE. I have no experience with Opera or SeaMonkey though.

Considering the plus and minus of three
Firefox vs IE vs Opera
Firefox(here after FF) is small and simple to use
IE is larger than all browsers hence more complex..
Opera(here after O) is in the middle of two.

Concerning security FIREFOX is the winner...
But speed is only owned by opera...

IE is for ease to use ..
ie.) User friendly as we are familiar with windows..

I'm a big fan of FireFox, and fairly anti IE.

FireFox uses less memory, and has some great simple task capabilities.
IE on my computer, even with pop-up blocker, I still get a LOAD of pop ups.
IE, though, does have the game drivers needed to play yahoo! games.
It somewhat depends upon your own priorities. Basic web browsing- FireFox. Free games from Yahoo!- IE.

Whoo, you're going to get as many answers as there are people reading this. Each of us has their favorite. I prefer IE6, but I'm used to it. I didnt' like IE7 and many of my games and other things wouldn't run on FireFox. I never used Opera, and never heard of SeaMonkey.
